Your hair is gorgeous!

I was just wondering if you straightened your hair in the pictures with the loose twists? I know you said you don’t use heat, but did you straighten using any other method? What process did you use to achieve the twists?

  Hello and thank you! To answer your question, no I did not straighten with heat but by “naturally stretching. I stretch my strands after I wash my hair in loose 8-10 braids, I will let my hair air dry and when the hair is about 75% dry I will re-braid the hair tightly (not too tight around the scalp area) and leave these braids in for 6-8 hours. This method naturally stretches my strands without heat. Then I will take out and proceed to re-twist. On another note my hair experiences about 50% shrinkage. The stretching helps me deal with tangles easier as my hair has reached longer lengths. Hope this helps

      Your welcome. I hope what you see you will find interesting but I think you will enjoy. My hair is in a loose twist ponytail pictured above but curly due to bantu knots placed the night before. We will have hair style tutorials coming as well.

I love your hair, it’s beautiful. But I was wondering, when I read that you redo 150 twists each month, whether you considered locking your hair since you wear it in protective styling all the time. Wondering if it would cut down on your time and maintenance. Do you think if you had dreads your twists would look different? Or do you just like the option of having loose hair?

  Hello and thank you so much. Even though I think dreads are absolutely beautiful. I prefer to wear my hair in loose twist (I actually wash once a month and retwist every week or at the most 2 weeks). This is and has been my staple for some time now but who knows maybe a year later I will be rockin huge braids. So no I will not dread. I really have come to love my hair so I have come to respect the time it takes to take care of it even though that means more hours. So yes it is more time but at the end of the day I keep going because I want to if not I would have chopped it off long ago, lol.

Also, one more question…I have tryed to style my hair like yours because I just love it. However, it keeps coming out bad….do you think the secret is to wait until my hair is completely dry, before I try to style it…and how do you keep your edges so flat without blowdrying it……I’ve tryed oils and they don’t work for me.
