Informative but i’m a tad bit confused about porosity. I understand it measures how much moisture your hair will retain but i put a strand into the glass and it sunk. My hair absorbed a lot of water right? So is this good or bad? Does it just mean my hair is super thirsty? And what would be the best way to moisturize it? Water then oil? Any suggestions please? Thanks!
Roc
Hiya Felicia If your hair sunk to the bottom its highly porous which means that your hair can take on too much water to the point of putting stress on your strands. It also means that just as easily as your hair absords water it will let it out. Do try water then oil and then a cream to lock in the moisture and just bet very gentle when handling your hair, especially when soaking wet.

Yes @disqus_kIxsTzNkar:disqus , @48ec5bf3734e8ef1b4cdb2d5c76fe481:disqus is correct this means the level of porosity regarding your strands is high. Could you let me know a bit about your hair history such as how long have you been natural, are you transitioning, do you use heat on your hair (or when was the last time you used heat), do your color your hair, do you wear tight protective styles, wash your hair in hot water. Let me know the answer to these questions and I can help you with your high porosity strands

man that porosity test confuses me. lol! i gently rest my hair in the water and it floats , then i give it a little tap and it sinks….??? lol! these vids are the best though! for real!

Lol, @facebook-500592830:disqus was this on hair without any product? Also all hair left in water long enough will most likely sink but the test is regarding how quickly the hair will sink or stay afloat so test the strand for about 4-6 minutes.
