On Martin Luther King day not only was I in remembrance of one of the greatest influential figures of our time, but simultaneously conducting an interview with Greenroom Magazine, for their cover feature with band members, Zoe Kravitz, James Levy and Jimmy Giannopoulos of ‘Lolawolf‘.
A new quarterly publication highlighting musicians, progressive urban culture, and practical wellness tips, from Editor-in-Chief, Jake Heinitz, Greenroom magazine goes beyond the surface of the public persona that comes with an artist, revealing endearing and vulnerable moments, and that is exactly what happened with my interview with ‘Lolawolf’. Derived from the names of her younger siblings, ‘Lolawolf’ brings a nostalgic punch from the 80′s with their addicting self-titled EP. Of course music was on the menu, but we also touched upon some real intimate issues, and it was refreshing to hear genuine no-holds-barred answers. The discussion lasted for over an hour and we definitely went there in this in-depth conversation. To sum up the experience, this is not some contrived industry band, but friendships with real history, in short, Zoe, Jimmy and James are the definition of dope in all aspects of the word.
The 002 issue of Greenroom Magazine just finalized and went to print a few days ago. Along with the ‘Lolawolf’ interview, my personal featured interview with the magazine will be included as well. I am anticipating the release and really looking forward to sharing with all of you, until then, here is a sneak peek look at ‘Lolawolf’ for Greenroom Magazine.
