This past weekend I was out of state as usual because my man doesn’t live in New York at the moment. We took my son Jaden on a nice hike through the woods along the river, there was a lot of humidity and that made my afro huge, which I love! But when we got back to his place I felt all icky! With all the little bugs flying around I always get paranoid that some have flown in my hair to hang out. I asked my boyfriend if he could wash my hair, which he kindly did for the first time, he did a great job too. Any-who, after he shampooed my hair, it was super tangled, and I realized I didn’t have my conditioner with the magic “slip” with me, so I had to make some chess moves. I had some “Trader Joe’s Tea Tree Tingle Conditioner” under his sink and a small 3oz. spritz bottle mixed with coconut oil, jojoba oil, and aloe vera gel that I always carry in my travel case but never use. I mixed the Trader Joe’s Conditioner with this mix of oils and aloe vera gel, applied it to my wet hair and fingered combed through, then proceeded to use my shower comb. The slip I had was frackin amazing! My knotty head was detangled in minutes! This is what I call my accidental detangling formula. I wanted to share this in hopes that it may work for others out there who dread taking a long time to detangle their hair.
Here is my concoction mix, you will have to adjust it depending on your hair length and how much conditioner you usually use:
3-4 oz of “Trader Joe’s Tea Tree Tingle Conditioner”
1-2 tablespoons of jojoba oil
1-2 tablespoons of coconut oil
2 tablespoons of aloe vera gel
Do you have a detangler concoction that you would like to share?
