Some lovely ladies have been emailing and leaving comments inquiring about what I do to maintain my physique. I will start by saying that I have a fast metabolism which means I burn fat and nutrients rather quickly. I still have the ability to gain weight, it just means I have to eat a lot of junk and I can’t be active in order to do so . I gained  about 30lbs once from emotionally eating myself through a funk and not moving much (it was winter, I had no job for about 2 months and I just went from my couch to the kitchen. I was eating things like fast food, a pint of ice cream, 2 dunkin donuts, massive dinner plates every day and night). But I went back to my normal set weight a few months later, after I got out of the funk and stopped eating junk and was active again.

So here is what I like to call my life style:

I walk A LOT! I’m talking miles a day because I live in NYC, I love walking, I got that from my mom who walks every where. I’m very active especially when its warm, bike riding, swimming, hiking to name a few, and I just started doing yoga 3-4 times a week, without the meditation part though…lol. I eat pretty much what ever, but I’ve never been a big carbohydrates person, I prefer meats and veggies. I also snack on things through out the day. My daily snacks are things like nuts, fruits, and veggies. On occasion I eat things like ice cream, cupcakes, other baked goods (ex: 2 scoops of ice cream maybe once a week to get my sugar fix)  . I don’t drink soda and stick to water, maybe some natural juices in the morning. I cook a lot, its one of my passions, I love to cook using West Indian recipes I grew up with, along with incorporating many other cultural dishes into my repertoire. I cook lots of stews, mostly eating fish, chicken, and tofu.  I drink greens every morning ( powder made of a bunch of green veggies and fruits) I also take a cocktail of other vitamins and oils (fish oil, flax seed oil). I don’t miss a day, I’m very neurotic and disciplined when it comes to those things :).
