How do you feel with and without makeup?
Your makeup looks very nice! It enhances your already beautiful face.
Tonya thank so much!!! :)))
When I don’t get enough sleep the night before, I feel like I need some concealer to look less tired. But, for the most part, I mainly wear lipstick and mascara because I think I look fine without all that other stuff. Sometimes I think that doing my makeup does not make me look better, only worse. LOL! I don’t know if that makes sense.
Pretty gross. I’m extremely sleep deprived 90% of the time but I’m working on being in bed by 11pm everyday. Internetz is my biggest hurdle
Also, I just went through one of the most HORRIBLE breakouts of my life…i’m talking about huge cystic acne boils everywhere on my cheeks because I tried the oil cleansing method…luckily it’s pretty much gone but I have really bad scars…I have a dark chocolate/cinnamon/nutmeg/green tea mask (ha! it’s alot but it works fast) that I’m using right now. Sorry for the long skin bio!
I only wear foundation and eyeliner but makeup is makeup. I sort of hate and love how much of a difference it makes. I can’t wait till I don’t look THAT much different without makeup if that makes sense.
I consider my nude face another look. I choose my look based on what I’m wearing and sometimes an outfit calls for a makeup-less face. I feel pretty confident either way.
I like make up. It’s different and can be a little pick me up for when I feel down right awful. But usually I like my face best without it, even though my skin isn’t quite even yet. Even the lightest make up feels too much for me at times.
I still have nooo idea how to wear makeup. But want to eventually learn. I feel like I look good without it. I really do feel like makeup is just something to enhance your natural beauty. It by no means should “make” someone look beautiful.
Exactly my thoughts. I’m so horrible with skin care I don’t even wear sunblock.
I don’t wear makeup but I have vowed to start trying lipstick. I think there’s nothing prettier than a little bold lip color every now and again. I am however, interested in trying lip stain. Any suggestions for good brands out there?
i used to love it in high school. as a theatre actress i wore it often and enjoyed it. now as soon as i get off of the stage i scrub my face. the most i do on a regular day is wear mascara. i have super long lashes naturally and love to make then look in even longer. i promised myself that i would start wearing lipstick this summer though.
I don’t wear any makeup. The most make-up I own is maybe lip gloss? I don’t even wear that. I love my face naked. I don’t like how I look with makeup on, I feel like a child pageant contestant. I spend more time obsessing over my actual skin. Some may say when I get a “real” job I’ll need it but I think that is an offensive statement. My makeup is a good scrub, mask, cleanser, moisturizing cream and some brow tweezers.
Water, greens and post workout glow works well for me as a lazy makeup routine. LOL But mostly I feel ok with out wearing it. It is quite the skill to acquire. I don’t think enough black women were fortunate to have their mothers or aunties take them to the makeup counter as teenagers to play in the stuff. And in the past foundation shades ranged from white to tan. For me my mother was not a makeup wearer. She had a few tubes of lipstick and eyeliner. There were men that have passed through my life that have made disparaging remarks regarding makeup, and the woman that wear it, so there was some shame associated with it. I have a preference for makeup made from natural ingredients, and I am happy that this market is growing. I feel that I am on my way to mastering my makeup face. It took time and patience , and really honestly looking at what about my face was worth enhancing.
I’m 19 and i just started wearing makeup. I feel that makeup enhances a persons looks, if not too much is applied. and if the person knows how to coordinate well.
I seldom where make-up but if I do I mostly focus on eyes- eye shadow, eyeliner, mascara, and if I feel extra fancy some lipstick. But I feel like wearing make-up too often is too much commitment and kind of false advertisement. I say what you see is what you get, so love it or leave it. Plus then when I wear make-up people actually notice and I feel pretty.
I feel great without make up!
I talked about it once on my blog, I don’t wear it daily because I don’t wanna get used to alwayys wearing some and end up not liking my face without make-up or have people not liking it.
Just when I got times on my hands.
In high school I used to love playing around with liquid liners and different color mascaras, but now, not so much. When I go out, I’ll simply put on some mascara and lipstick–just to vamp up my face a little. However, on a daily basis you can catch me with a naked face. I feel fresher and more natural that way.On top of that, I’m OBSESSED with skin care, so when the skin is lookin right, I like to show it off lol. Plus, I think I get noticed more when I don’t have on make-up. Around my part of Brooklyn, weave and make-up are a 24/7 thing. I think people/dudes around here find it refreshing when they see a chick who’s not afraid to step out au naturale.
I really want to try make-up but I swore I’d only wear it when I found some with natural ingredients. I don’t see the point of covering my face with chemicals just to “look better”. If you guys have any recommendations I’d appreciate them!
I only started wearing make-up at 22! That was a steep learning curve…..now I’ve settled on a line that’s light, has mineral ingredients and actually helps my skin.
I feel ok without makeup (given the fact I went for so long without it) but I use it to enhance my natural beauty.
I wear it daily but I’m happy to go for a run without it! Only recently did I start playing with eyeshadows on the weekends….still learning!
I feel kind of beautiful with it. Like when little girls play dress up. But I only wear it for special occasions… both of my graduations, my high school prom and college senior ball, etc. I wear mascara when I go out to bars. I guess I feel gorgeous with it and gorgeous without. I don’t see much of a difference. No one really needs to wear it anyway. Cosmetic companies make you think you do so they can make money.
Honestly I don’t mind not wearing make-up. Sometimes I’ll put it on but i think I look just as great w/o it
I only started wearing make-up properly this year and I’m 25! I don’t have the best skin but I can survive without it. What I do rely on is my brown eyeliner as i have naturally angry looking eyes and this helps to soften them! Btw, you look gorgeous in this photo!
I’m fine with wearing make-up I just don’t do it often. It has s tendency to make my skin feel heavier and greasier over time. I prefer a natural glow if I can achieve it. :o)
I tend to stick to blush and eyeliner. I never really liked to wear makeup until I realized as long as it wasn’t a crutch for me I would be fine. I won’t however talk down on someone who does rely on it because we don’t all have the same skin and if it makes you feel beautiful that’s your personal choice.
