As we are preparing for a serious hurricane in the New York area this weekend I am taking the time not writing about securing my property, storing  food and medical supplies, stocking up on flashlights and mobile generators……no,  I of course had to post a style segment. I am not making light of the situation, hurricanes are nothing to joke about especially if you have experienced this type of relentless fury from Mother Nature and survived (which I have) but this is just a small moment of “fashion distraction” to lift my overly paranoid darkening mood of the dooming forecast ahead knowing not everyone who reads our blog lives in the NY tri-state area. I am trying to stay in the frame of mind of: “If you knew how powerful your thoughts were you would never think a negative thought” a famous quote spoken by Peace Pilgrim (Mildred Lisette Norman, an American pacifist, vegetarian and peace activist. In 1952, she became the first woman to walk the entire length of the Appalachian Trail in one season. Starting on January 1, 1953, in Pasadena, California, she adopted the name “Peace Pilgrim” and walked across the United States for 28 years   -wikipedia). So I am trying to concentrate and detour my thoughts in a more positive energy imagining the storm will pass off to the sea or dissipate all together but through my positivity this does not mean a girl can’t be prepared which is why I took my butt to Target at 10PM to stock up on food, water, flashlights and other items. I know this is a strange way to introduce a style segment but here it is regardless. Welcome to another Urban Bush Babe Fashionista on a Budget series and please be safe this weekend.
