Our goal is to give the youth tangible skills to really develop their sense of self and inspire them to know that they can create their own economic future” - Zebi Williams of Lil Raggamuffin Summercamp

Taking full responsibility for your life and not waiting for somebody else to tell you or show you how to do something, that you just own it, take it. If you are moved to do something, just do it.”- Akua Soadwa of Gye Nyame Empowerment Project

On Monday, June 9th two sister organizations that were built through friendship and a commitment to uplifting the Global Diaspora will once again come together for a common goal.

Akua Soadwa and Zebi Williams, the founders of the Gye Nyame Empowerment Project and the Lil Raggamuffin Summer Camp, took their college friendship and turned it into an international movement.
Through the collaborative development of resources and skill sharing, both organizations have created a platform for promoting life purpose cultivation for the past seven years.
They have mobilized a dynamic network of educators and artists from the Brooklyn community and beyond to volunteer and provide educational experiences to over 2000 students throughout New York City and Jamaica.
